Artist Statement

In my work, I investigate the subconscious, supernatural, mystical and whimsical elements of the shared human experience.

I create original works on canvas and paper that depict natural, geometric and surreal character scenes referencing ancient wisdom as well as futuristic ideals. Fantastical scenes about my personal interpretation of the wild yet universal journey of birth, life, enlightenment, spirit animals, cosmic beings and death comprise of the musings in my work.  I am seeking the balance of gleaning ideals from our past and projecting into a futuristic realm.

Unusual landscapes, otherworldy creatures, imaginative flora, mystical geometry and spirited elements are bespeckled in each piece. The sequence of the paintings are semi-autobiographical reflecting on my personal development and meditations with a grand yet microscopic vantage point.

My works are both figurative and non-figurative subject matter. Some panels have central characters in a space and others have fantastical nature scenes with smaller objects or points of interest.

My art is a dreamy, mystical world of creatures and wild, lush surreal nature scenes. It is about the relationship between past and future, cycles of life, heightened consciousness, the universal experience of life and zany imagination.

In my work, I take on the challenge of seeking the mystical enchantment of the universal
